New Passport – Required Details & Documents

1. Personal Details (you will need to provide these)

• Full Name (First, Middle, Last)
• Father’s / Mother’s Name
• Date of Birth
• Place of Birth
• Marital Status (Single / Married / Divorced / Widowed)
• Permanent Address
• Present Address (if different from permanent)
• Educational Qualification (optional)
• Occupation / Profession
• Mobile Number (mandatory)
• Email ID (mandatory)
• Emergency Contact – Name & Mobile number of a relative/friend

2. Required Documents

(A) Proof of Identity & Age

• Aadhaar Card (Most important – covers name, DOB, and address)
• Birth Certificate (mandatory if applicant is below 18 years, otherwise Aadhaar is enough)

(B) Proof of Address (any one of the following)

• Aadhaar Card
• Voter ID
• Electricity / Water Bill (in your or parent’s name)
• Bank Passbook / Statement (with bank seal/signature)
• Registered Rent Agreement (if you live on rent)

(C) Secondary ID Proof

• PAN Card
• Voter ID
• Driving Licence

(D) Other Supporting Items

• Passport-size photographs (though usually taken at the Passport Seva Kendra itself)
• Old Passport copy (only if you already had one before)

3.Passport Application Process

1. Application Submission

• Complete and submit your passport application online through the official Passport Seva portal.

1. Document Verification at PSK

• Visit the nearest Passport Seva Kendra (PSK) on your scheduled appointment date.
• Carry all required original documents along with photocopies.
• The officials will verify your documents at the PSK.

1. Police Verification

• After successful document verification, a police verification request will be generated.
• A police officer will visit your residential address to verify your identity and address.

1. Final Processing

• Once police verification is cleared, your passport will be processed and dispatched.

Passport Update – Required Documents & Details

1. Basic Documents (All Cases)

• Old Passport: Original + photocopy of all pages
• Proof of Address: Aadhaar, Voter ID, Utility Bill, or any government-approved address proof
• Proof of Date of Birth: Birth Certificate, Matriculation Certificate, or any valid government document

2. Additional Documents for Specific Updates

A. Name Change

• Proof of Correction / Name Change:
• Gazette Notification (official name change)
• Marriage Certificate (if applicable)
• Affidavit for name change

B. Address Change

• Proof of New Address:
• Aadhaar Card
• Utility Bill (Electricity, Water, Gas, etc.)
• Bank Statement / Rent Agreement (if applicable)

C. Other Corrections (Date of Birth, Gender, etc.)

• Supporting Documents Validating the Correction:
• Birth Certificate (for DOB)
• Government-issued certificate (for gender change, etc.)

3. Photographs

• Passport-size photos as per official specifications (usually 2–4 photos)
• Background and size must follow government passport norms

4. Application Form

• Complete the Passport Application Form online or offline
• Select the correct option for “Reissue / Correction”

5. Proof of Identity (Optional but Recommended)

• PAN Card
• Driving Licence
